David Price

Heavy weight champion Dave “Dynamite” Price, born July 6th 1983, originated from the City of Liverpool. The six foot 8 eight giant’s career began when he was only 14 years of age, choosing boxing over his early love of Football, being a huge fan of Liverpool FC.

David then went onto become the youngest (19 years old) ABA (Amateur boxing association) champion for his particular weight.

His career has been an eventful one leading up to his Bronze medal success at the Beijing Olympics. Price regrettably missed the Athens 2004 Olympics due to a broken hand. However was back on top form for the 2008 Beijing Olympics despite struggling to make the grade.

Congratulated by his Boxing team mates by being made captain of the UK Boxing team, Price went on to successfully win 2 opponents during the games, securing a Bronze medal.

After a third ABA title Price then took the Commonwealth Championship after stopping Australian Daniel Beahan, and he was well on the way to World Championship gold before injury.

““Hoped he would go all the way”“

Price stated that he was initially disappointed that he only came away with the bronze and hoped he would go all the way, now feels content with the fact he returned with a medal, and feels positive that he will offer even more results in the future.

Price has now succeeded Audley Harrison in the world of boxing and is now ranked third in Europe for super heavyweight.
